About Funkadelic Collective – professional Funk & Disco Band based in Birmingham, UK
We are Funkadelic Collective, and our mission on this earth is to provide you with the most outrageous evenings of your life.
Funkadelic Collective resurrects the joy and vibrancy of the 1970s soul movement at events and in venues around the UK by channelling the essences of James Brown, Sister Sledge, Chaka Khan, The Bee Gees, CHIC, Earth, Wind & Fire, and more. They do this by playing a soundtrack that is so groovy that it is impossible not to dance.
Watch our promotional videos; they aren't like most others because they were captured in real time without any overdubs!
The world-class musicians and artists that make up Funkadelic Collective's ensemble cast will each provide a wealth of polished talent to your evening.
We are not one of those function bands that are the same old, same old, seen it all before.
While we do play your favourite songs just the way you remember them, we feel compelled to go above and beyond due to our combined experience and passion for the genre, so each performance we give a little additional magic sprinkled on top.
We guarantee that you and everyone you invite along for the adventure will never forget the night you partied with Funkadelic Collective, whether it's impromptu bongo solos, horn section madness, or improvisational expansions to songs that you CLEARLY don't want to stop dancing to.
The band members are all full-time professionals who practise their craft extensively in order to maintain a dynamic and innovative sound.
Each member has extensive expertise in touring acts, function bands, and theatre. The band's members studied at the esteemed Birmingham Conservatoire in considerable part.
When necessary, the band can bring in competent deputy substitutes for every instrument.
Throughout the day, we can also play lovely background music with our optional acoustic trio.
Upon request, the main band can easily be expanded to a 12-piece ensemble. Please message us for further details regarding the add-ons.
We have performed at outdoor concerts, private parties, weddings, and charity balls in the past few years.
We can accommodate any area or event requirement thanks to our extensive access to top-tier lighting setups and sound equipment.
"We were so fortunate to have Funkadelic Collective play at our wedding. They had people on the dance floor all night. Their choice of songs and delivery really made the party! We had so many of our guests commenting how brilliant the band were... even months after the event! Highly recommend!"
"Great band, great energy, and a dream to work with. I’ve booked Funkadelic Collective now for a number of different corporate events – and will continue to do so, they’re awesome! Not only are they hugely talented but Lewis will do anything to try and make my life easier which is an absolute dream and very unusual!"
"Great band, dance floor was full from start to finish, the singers were fantastic! Would love to see them again!"
"The band were amazing! I and many of my guests danced the night away to many memorable hit songs which had their own unique feel to them. We had the band as a 10 piece and having the brass section added was just as amazing as i was hoping for leading up to the big day. The lead female and male vocalists were really good and the musicians in their own right kept us entertained with their level of playing ability on their respective instruments. Just the sight and noise of the 10 piece band doing sound checks got all my guests really excited about what was to come and they sure delivered. The band turned up on time and were very professional throughout the night. I dealt with Lewis from the band prior to the wedding and he was super helpful and transparent with what i was getting with my money (a lot) and how the night would flow and it all went to plan. I loved being able to request a selection of songs for the band to learn and perform on the night. The only sad part is that the night goes so soon and we would love to be able to relive that night all over again. Our friends and family all raved about the band afterwards and it left me feeling pretty smug because it was something special on our big day."
"What a band! We had the privilege of having the band play at our wedding and they absolutely nailed it. From the get go, Lewis was our point of contact. Charismatic, laid back and trustworthy. He talked us through our options and gave us a massive amount of confidence and excitement for the event!"
"We had Funkadelic Collective for our wedding and they were just incredible! The lead vocalists take on James brown was one of the best I've ever heard. I loved the retro vibe and so did our guests, I will be booking them again!"
"Nothing was too much trouble, and any special requests that we had had were performed to perfection. The dance floor was packed all night, and there were people dancing who wouldn't normally get up and dance. We had so many fantastic comments about the band and Lewis was always prompt with his communication before the wedding which really put me at ease. If you are thinking of booking Funkadelic Collective, do it, you won't be disappointed."
