About Under the Bay Tree – professional acoustic Dduo based in Arcachon Bay, France
Two artists from very different backgrounds met in 2018, when their paths unexpectedly met.
Eventually this friendship flourished into an amazing musical act, Under the Bay Tree as an acoustic duo.
We're regularly booked to perform for weddings and events at Château Allure du Lac in Grez-Neuville, France.

On the one side, there is Mat, a blues rock musician who draws inspiration from funky rhythms. He has been carving a musical route in Australia for years, progressing from busking on the streets to the greatest festivals.
Alex, on the other hand, concentrates on how faint the music is. Her mellow, ethereal sounds have been heard in Swiss and French venues.
Under the Bay Tree was created in 2022 as a result of the union of these two worlds, a seamless blending of rhythm and gentleness.
Under the Bay Tree, who are currently based on the Bassin d'Arcachon, perform all around France and beyond; in fact they have performed a number of events in the Philippines in February 2023.

We were absolutely blown away by Under the Bay Tree’s and performance at our wedding! From the very first song they played, they created the perfect ambiance, setting a romantic and intimate tone for our special day. Their talent is truly remarkable – they seamlessly blended soulful vocals with skillful guitar melodies, making each song feel unique and heartfelt.
What impressed us most was their ability to read the room and adapt their set to suit the moment, whether it was an upbeat tune during cocktail hour or a softer, more emotional piece during dinner. They were also incredibly professional and easy to work with. From our initial conversation, they listened carefully to our requests and even learned a few of our favorite songs to make the day even more personal and memorable. A key moment for us was our first dance where they sung “Say you won’t let go” by James Arthur. They recorded the song in the studio so that we could practice our dance to the song just goes to show how they’re willing to go above and beyond!
