About The Shift – professional wedding band based in Oxfordshire
The Shift are made up of four experienced professional musicians based in Oxfordshire.
Between them, they’ve played winter seasons in the Alps, livened up countless weddings and other events here in the UK and been on tours of Europe and the USA.
They’ve been playing together as The Shift since 2006, honing their unique blend of dynamic instrumentation and pitch-perfect harmonies to cover everything from all-out rock ‘n’ pop to breezy vintage classics.
Nowadays most of our shows are a mixture of corporate clients and weddings, though no show is too large or too small. Where there is a crowd to entertain, we’re there!
So if you're looking to hire the finest wedding band Oxfordshire has to offer, get in touch with The Shift.
"We recently had a garden party for my husband’s 50th and we decided to hire some live music to provide the entertainment. The Shift turned out to be the perfect band for our family and friends. They mixed up old and new tunes (good for the youngsters there!), were super flexible with their set timings (the weather threw us off schedule somewhat) and took some random requests that they managed to pull off admirably. They were on time and had a very professional attitude throughout. Thanks again guys. You were ace."

"I just wanted to say a massive thank you all the guys in The Shift. Seb and I knew you'd be great but all our guests loved you too, we're so pleased that we chose you to play at our wedding. I'm sure the full dance floor is testament to that!"
– Kelly and Seb Williams, 3 April 2019, wedding in Essex
"The Shift smashed it out of the park. They rounded off our evening entertainment by playing a great collection of songs which had us all dancing until the end. Thanks again for letting me join you on stage and instigating the dance off! We're still talking about it now."
– Mike and Ola Chapman, 15 February 2019, wedding in Oxfordshire
"We’d seen The Shift a couple of years back at a friend’s 40th and knew straight away they’d be perfect for our wedding. They have a genuine warmth and friendliness, both on and off stage, that makes them very easy to work with. They were a total hit on the night. Highly recommended!"
– Neil and Heather Bushley, 9 December 2018, wedding in Norfolk
"Very little that I can say that hasn't already been said by the other reviews but The Shift really are top draw. I spent countless hours trying to find the right band and without a doubt made the right decision. From old Motown tunes to modern classics (plus a few I wasn’t expecting!) The Shift can do em all and add some freshness to it all."
– Charlie Davidson, 2 December 2018, birthday party in London
"A truly really amazing band who made our party! Really tasteful covers played really well by 4 really sound guys. We can't thank you enough! Stephen and The Shift guys were total pros from start to finish. Their advice about timings, background music and the general flow of the evening's entertainment really made a difference. Thank you so much."
