The Music
The band's musical direction is a mix of classic tunes from the 60s and 70s by people such as The Who, The Beatles and Rod Stewart along with Soul Classics by Marvin Gaye, Eddie Floyd and the Spencer Davis Group.
80s hits from bands including the Jam and The Smiths sit alongside the best of current music scene such as The Killers, Arctic Monkeys and The Kings of Leon.
The band are also able to provide a selection of well known Irish folk and rock songs on request such as "The Galway Girl", "Dirty Old Town", "Whisky in the Jar", "Boys are Back in Town" played in an energetic and modern style should it be required.
The Band
All three members are experienced musicians with over 30 years of professional experience. The three piece set up suits the band as their wealth of technical ability on their respective instruments allows them to create a powerful live sound that is as impressive and dynamic as any other larger band around.
The band caters directly to the clients' needs working with them to create a memorable night that is as professional as it is entertaining.
The evening’s proceedings can be organised by a band member acting as an MC if required, for example, ensuring your wedding guests congregate for the first dance with cameras ready etc.
The band's dress code will also meet the client's requirements – fully suited for formal occasions or a more casual look for a laid back atmosphere if required.
The band receive wide praise for their performances combining technical ability and a love for music with professionalism and a desire to exceed the client's expectations to ensure a great show!

"Northern Heroes were fabulous from start to finish. We have had so many compliments on the band, and how much they added to the wedding. The dance floor was packed, due to the varied song choices, getting old and young up to dance. Thank you for making it a truly unforgettable evening. We can't praise you enough!"
"OMG! You guys were brilliant, the songs you played were perfect and everyone loved it. You made our night and so glad we booked you. Thanks so much, Alex and Curtis."
"Hi FixTheMusic team, Thanks again for helping us find Northern Heroes for our wedding. They did a great job - here's a review. Northern Heroes played at our wedding. We had great communication from Mark from the start - really clear, speedy responses, and a pleasure to deal with. On the day they arrived in good time, were just as lovely in person as they had been over email, and had everything in hand. They played two brilliant sets that had everyone up and dancing - really high energy and plenty of crowd-pleasers. We'd recommend Northern Heroes to anyone looking for a fun, professional wedding band."
"Fantastic! Positive comments from everyone - got people of all ages up dancing from teens to those in their 80s! Good range and choice of music suited to the wide range of tastes and ages."
"We had a great evening with Northern Heroes to celebrate a 50th Birthday and our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We had a marquee in the garden and the band played 2 sets for one hour each, from 8.15pm and one from 10.15pm. The band were all dressed smartly with matching shirt, tie and waistcoats. I was a bit conscious about the level of noise so as not to disturb the neighbours but the band were very reassuring and accommodating in that regard. We had great communication with Mark from the band. They played a mixture of old and new songs which went down well with a mixed audience of teenagers and middle aged folk like us. They even played some requests that we asked they to do, one for my daughter and one for my wife. They made the event very personal for us. I think the sign of a successful gig depends on how people get on the dance floor. The dance floor was filled with 16/17 year olds and the 40/50 year olds at the same time. My son and daughter want to do it all over again for their 18th and 21st, which I think that means they approved too! It took me 12 months to plan the party and the band were a big piece of the jigsaw. They lived up to and went beyond my hopes and expectations. I’d love to do it all over again. Thanks guys it was a blast."
