About The Venice Jazz Band – professional jazz band based in Venice, Italy
The Venice Jazz Band offers a repertoire of songs ranging from 1901 to the great classics of the 1950s performed in a classy elegant way.
What is special about this band is the solid friendship that underlies the music it offers. The musicians who belongs to The Venice Jazz Band are some of the best jazz musicians in northern Italy who have known each other and played together since 2005 when the band was born at the behest of pianist Franz Falanga.
The repertoire on offer consists of dixieland, ragtime, swing, gypsy jazz and famous American songs from the period 1901-1950. It happens that the Band also offers interpretations of pop and rock songs in an acoustic manner. In collaboration with guest singer the Band proposes a repertoire of Bossa, Latin and Bolero songs (ask for details).

We're regularly booked to perform for weddings and events at Hotel Belmond Cipriani, Rifugio Pomedes in Belluno, Hotel Palazzo Pianca in Venice and Castello Rubein in Merano, Italy.
The Band accommodates almost any repertoire requests from the client (within certain limits and conditions).
The Band is a large family of musicians and can vary according to the client's specific requests and budget. From simple and intimate duo to band with 6-7 elements.
In spite of the variety of instruments involved one constant of The Venice Jazz Band is the colour sound of the band: it uses almost exclusively acoustic instruments making the Band capable of performing with or without amplification in a wide variety of situations.
Instruments involved regularly are clarinet, guitar, banjo, double bass, drums, vocals, violin, saxophone.
The Venice Jazz Band works with sound services in the area and can easily arrange and provide the necessary instrumentation (PA system and more) to suit various locations.

The Venice Jazz Band performs regularly in Italy and is very familiar with Venice with its critical logistical issues, but relying on a network of local collaborators ensures a smooth and easy unfolding of the concert set-up and execution on the island.
