Their work in the world of events has seen them perform at a long list of venues including: The Ritz, The Savoy, Soho House, Soho Farm House, The Ivy, The Shard, Tower Bridge, Wembley Stadium, Stamford Bridge, Mansion House, Banking Hall and for a broad range of clients that includes: The London Stock Exchange, Google, Bacardi, Coutts, Barclays, The League Managers Association and Aesop, to name but a few.

Velvet Jazz are comfortable performing to a crowd, but their music works equally well as subtle, unobtrusive background music.

They have an upbeat and swinging repertoire of hundreds of songs, largely comprising jazz and Latin jazz standards and in particular the Great American Songbook: the timeless songs of Gershwin, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Cole Porter, Harold Arlen and Irving Berlin, as made famous by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Billie Holiday.

Most commonly booked as an instrumental duo or trio, Velvet Jazz have an extremely flexible lineup to suit a range of event spaces and budgets.

Working with a select pool of London’s finest jazz musicians, they can add female vocals, male vocals, piano/keyboard, drums (to create a slightly livelier sound), trumpet, clarinet and various other instruments to create ensembles of various sizes. A low-maintenance option, they are extremely quick to set up, entirely self-sufficient and require little more than access to a plug socket to be able to perform.

They use minimal amplification for most events and entirely unamplified options are available upon request.
