Electric and Folk Style Sets

One of the benefits of hiring The Electric Folks over many other bands is their ability to show off two different styles. It's like having two different bands perform for the price of one!

View our list of the UK's best Mumford-style wedding bands ➡️

We know it is always great to add variety to your event, so as standard for a wedding or party The Electric Folks offer both styles.

Firstly electric, where they play pop and rock songs very similar to the record, and then their acoustic folk style, where they put down their electric instruments and swap them for double bass and acoustic guitars.

They channel their inner Mumford and add a folky twist to popular hits, which always goes down a storm!

Their set list has been expertly crafted over years of entertaining at weddings and corporate events. It always has a great reception with the band's audiences. All ages will be excited by the music they play, from the young to the not so young! There's something in there for everybody.

Wedding receptions

The Electric Folks offer 3 x 45-minute sets as standard. This is more than the majority of bands offer.

Let us know if you want even more live music than this though, and we can send you an additional quote. We usually suggest the time is split into 1 x 45 min folk set, and 2 x 45 min electric sets, but it can be the other way round if you prefer.

A standard quote from the band will include the following:

  • 3 x 45-minute sets between 8pm and 12am
  • Arrival at 5pm
  • Pre-set playlist between sets via iPod or similar
  • First dance learned
  • Fully PAT tested equipment, PA system and lighting
  • All travel costs
  • All necessary insurances to perform at wedding venues across the UK

Earlier Entertainment

In addition to their standard evening performance, the band are able to offer earlier sets (often an acoustic set) for your ceremony, photo hour, wedding breakfast or drinks reception.

So do let us know if this is something you would be interested in, as generally having one band play throughout the day is much cheaper than hiring in separate ones.

Surrey Based

The Electric Folks are based in Kingston, Surrey so are ideally located for weddings in Oxfordshire, London and Hampshire.

They are willing to travel across the UK so if you would like to enquire please let us know the location.

So if you're looking to hire the finest Mumford & Sons style wedding band UK has to offer, get in touch with The Electric Folks.

"I just wanted to let you know that we were really pleased with our choice of The Electric Folks to play at our wedding. They were so much fun and the quality of their music was brilliant. They were professional and reliable and also put up with the groom insisting he wanted to be on stage (repeatedly)! Please thank all of the lads from us for making the evening of our wedding such a success. Everything ran very smoothly and we didn’t need to worry about anything. All of the guests (of all ages) have been saying how brilliant they were. Thanks for all of your helping leading up to the day too."

"The band were very pleasant and easy to deal with on the night of our wedding, the singing was fantastic along with the other pieces of the band, everybody that evening and the following days commented about the band. Their version of Ben 'E' King as our wedding dance was also memorable. Overall a beautiful wedding, daytime followed by an exceptional evening with the music provided."

FAQs

How long does the band take to set-up?We like to have 1.5 hours to get everything set up and sound checked. This can be done quietly up until the last 25 minutes when we will need to check the levels of our instruments. Set-up time is usually between 5:30pm and 7pm. If you need the band set-up earlier let us know when you get in touch.
What time do you play?We can play our sets any time to suit you. Most weddings tend to happen between 8pm and midnight. A good guide would be… - 8:20pm – 9:00pm: First set and first dance. - 9:00pm – 10:00pm: Evening food with recorded music or DJ. - 10:00pm – 10:45pm: 2nd set. - 10:45pm – 11:10pm: Break with recorded music - 11:10pm – midnight: 3rd set. This sort of thing tends to work best but we can be completely flexible during this time and can play it by ear not the night if needs be. Nothing needs to be set in stone unless you want to. We fill all the gaps with recorded pre-prepared playlists so don’t worry there won’t be any downtime.
How long do you play for?We can perform 3 x 45 minute live music for dancing in the evening with recorded music between sets. We can also add an hours more background music set if you like which is perfect for during dinner, drinks reception or the photo hour.
Do you have your own PA and lighting?Yes, basic stage lighting will be included in our quote.
Do you have Public Liability Insurance and PAT tested equipment?Yes, to fit with most UK wedding venues regulations we have fully PAT certified equipment and insurance.
Can you perform a request?Yes, we include one request in our quote. You can use this a first dance or perhaps another special request to finish the night. We tend to learn any requests in the week before the wedding but it’s best to let us know about a month in advance of the date.
How much space do you require? We can squeeze in no problem but tend to ask for 3 x 5m if possible. Let us know if you are worried about space
How much power do you require?2 x 13 amp sockets is usually enough
Do I need to provide food/drinks?The band require a hot main meal and soft drinks tab on the night. It can be a long day, from packing the car before leaving home to unpacking when we get back, without much time for us to grab some food so meals need to be provided. Let us know if there is a problem and we may be able to sort something.
