About Forest String Quartet – professional string quartet based in Reading, Berkshire
Forest String Quartet is formed of a highly experienced group of players – we have over 100 years of professional music making between us.
The musicians in Forest String Quartet play together in orchestral concerts, theatre, operas and other chamber music ensembles as well as performing as the Forest String Quartet.
We're regularly booked to perform for weddings and events at Lincoln’s Inn and Beckenham Place Mansion in London.
Members of the quartet have performed in prestigious venues in the UK such as the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, St. David’s Hall.

Individual players have worked with well-known conductors such as Sir Neville Marriner, Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Sir Alexander Gibson, Owain Arwel-Hughes, Elgar Howarth, Arthur Davidson to name but a few, and also with the Bochmann and Chilingirian Quartets.
On rare occasions, it may be necessary to change the personnel within the quartet. If this occurs, we will use a trusted colleague to ensure your enjoyment of our music making is not altered in any way.
Our versatile style and experience means that we are equally at home with classical, light music and more popular music to suit a variety of events and occasions.
We have a wide-ranging repertoire which is being added to all the time and we are able to help you in your choice of pieces.
We are also available as a trio and our repertoire, whilst not being quite as extensive as for quartet, still has a large range of pieces in different styles.
Should we not have your favourite piece in our collection, one of our quartet members will arrange it for your special event – we will need some notice for this so that we can create the perfect arrangement for you.
