FAQs

How far do you travel?

We travel the UK and EU, but venues over 150 miles from Derbyshire may require overnight accommodation. This will be included if appropriate and presented to you in an all-inclusive quote.

Do Soul Republic have any specific requirements?

Yes, adequate power supply situated in and around where the band are to perform. It is also customary to provide the band with food, drinks, changing facilities and parking.

How long do Soul Republic play?

Usually we play 3 x 40-minute sets. However, the set times can be tailored to your request or schedule.

How long do the band need to set up?

Approximately, the band will need up to 30 minutes to setup and sound check. Please ensure that when planning your event you allow enough time for this as a decent setup is vital to the band, providing you with the best entertainment possible. Rushed sound checks can sometimes lead to a poor sound.

Can we pick our own set list?

Preferences of songs you would like us to play are welcomed, for example for the first dance. However, we advise against arranging our set list due the specific nature in which we put together our performances. We have discovered that not every request works well in a live situation but some can work great.

What happens if one the band members are sick?

Although the members of our band are professional full-time musicians, we work with a good selection of quality musicians across the country.

We have well-rehearsed, ‘deps’ or understudies who are ready to stand in at the last minute should an emergency occur, and we can guarantee that the standard of the band will not be affected should this occur.

What equipment do you provide?

Soul Republic consist of Drums, Bass Guitar, Lead Guitar, Keyboard + Backing Vocals, and Lead Singer.

As a band, we come equipped with all of our own instruments, microphones and amplification to suit up to 150 guests. Should you wish to use a microphone one will be provided for you.

Our lighting setup, although simple, provides an authentic atmosphere without the old fashion look of disco. Our lighting includes 4 x Multi LED par cans, Spinning Colour Ball, Reflective Balls and Smoke Machine.

When will you arrive?

We endeavour to arrive at a minimum of two hours before the performance is due to start in order to set up the equipment.

What do you wear for your performances?

We dress appropriately for events, either in stylish suits or black-tie. If clients have a preference for our attire, we will do our best to accommodate your requests.

Do you have public liability insurance?

We have £10 million PLI (Public Liability Insurance) cover. This certificate can be shown/sent to the venue on request. All of our equipment is regularly tested to conform to safety regulations and we have PAT (Portable Appliance Test) certificates that can be provided.

"This band were one of the best things that could have happened to our wedding. They were incredible. They bought life and soul to the evening and everyone wanted the music to last forever. A special thank you for the additional Bob Marley track, that moment was a highlight for both of us and we just cannot say enough good things about you. Everyone at our wedding would book this band and we have had endless compliments about them. They covered a variety of music but reactors to the crowd brilliantly. You will not regret booking this band! Last thing to say is...'one more song....'. Love the new Mr and Mrs Campbell xx"

"We just wanted to say that we thought you were wonderful at our wedding - the guests loved the band, the sets were really upbeat and fun. Thank you especially for being so patient with us and checking our preferences - it was great for the day to be so easy in areas like that. A special thanks for accommodating Charlie to sing a song with you - while we missed it (and are gutted about that) apparently it went really well. It was a lovely accommodation for which we are grateful. Overall it was just a brilliant experience and we wanted to wish you the very best of luck for the future."

"I just wanted to email you to say a HUGE thank you to Soul Republic for being amazing at our wedding. Music often makes or breaks a wedding I think (if people don't dance it's all a bit boring!) and you totally smashed it! So many people have said how great the band were and we have said exactly the same ourselves. In fact, I don't think I spoke to many people at my wedding because we were too busy dancing. The music got people of all ages dancing, even Jims dad who we have never ever seen dancing. We were a little surprised that it was Daniel Beddingfield that got him on the dance floor!"
