About Malta DJ Sax – professional DJ, Saxophonist & Trumpeter based in Mosta, Malta
Malta DJ Sax began his musical journey at the age of seven in a small town near Manchester, England.
By the time he completed school, he was already an accomplished horn player and drummer, earning multiple awards while performing with the UK’s leading brass bands.
His talent took him to prestigious competitions such as the World and European Championships, where he toured extensively across Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, and Poland.
His passion for music continued to grow as he pursued A-Level studies and later a degree at the University of Huddersfield.
It was during this time that his love for dance music blossomed. Weekly trips to legendary nightclubs in Leeds and Sheffield introduced him to iconic DJs like Paul van Dyk and Ferry Corsten, inspiring him to embrace electronic music.
Attending festivals like Summer Sound System, Global Gathering, and Creamfields cemented his desire to share the electrifying experience of music with others, setting him on a path to becoming a DJ.
In 2015, after balancing his musical endeavors with a day job, he decided to turn professional.
DJ Career:
Based in Malta, Malta DJ Sax holds weekly residencies at popular venues such as Oyster, Cava Baja, Medasia, and TexMex. During the summer, he is a staple at lounge events and boat parties. A frequent guest DJ on xFM 100.2’s Housekeeping show, he is also an integral part of the DnB collective Urban Kaos.
His innovative live act, Mykill & Brass, has become one of Malta's premier entertainment duos, blending DJ sets with live saxophone to energize clubs, weddings, and major events across the island.
Festival Performances:
Malta DJ Sax is a regular feature at Malta’s biggest festivals, including Earth Garden, Rock the South, Farsons Beer Festival, and the Bubble Festival. His collaborations with acts such as ManaTapu, Swing Nuages, and nosnow/noalps have brought him to stages at Beland, White Sands, Harbour Fest, Fools Garden (Stuttgart), August Island Festival, and Stramash (Edinburgh).
Session Work:
As a session musician, Malta DJ Sax is in high demand for his expertise on trumpet and keyboards. In Malta, he has contributed to chart-topping singles for local favorites such as nosnow/noalps, ManaTapu, and Relikc, cementing his reputation as a versatile and talented musician.
