About The Talismen – professional acoustic band based in Dorset
The Talismen are a high energy three-piece acoustic group with incredible three-part harmony vocals that create an infectious, good-time vibe at every event, be it a wedding, corporate event or party.
Playing songs from the 50s to the current day, they are always able to play to the crowd making sure the dance floor is always full.
As an acoustic cover band, we play a lot of folk rock and indie folk music, such as songs by Mumford & Sons and The Lumineers.
The Talismen are a flexible act, which can be a mobile acoustic act with no PA necessary or they can turn up the heat making it a full blown party band with drums, double bass and electric guitar.
Since 2014 The Talismen have performed at numerous high profile corporate events with clients including Audi, HSBC, Bournemouth AFC, Waitrose, National Trust, Bournemouth Tourism, Pru Health to name but a few.
The Talismen are a group of highly accomplished musicians who have collectively worked with some great names including The BBC, Top Of The Pops, Sir Bob Geldof, The House Of Blues USA, MTV and VH1.
We have also supported Robbie McIntosh, Paul McCartney, John Mayer, Ben Waters, Jools Holland, Ronnie Scott, Pinetop Perkins, Muddy Waters, Charlie McCoy and Bob Dylan whilst touring across the UK.
The Talismen are experienced, highly professional and experts at making your night one to remember.

What are the band’s requirements?
Please ensure that your event venue has an adequate power source. We require a supply of 3k watts, single phase. The band also requires you to supply two separate power drops eg two separate 13 amp sockets to which we can attach four-way extension leads – this enables us to keep our lights and PA system on separate power sources.
We ask that each member of the band is provided with a meal at your event, ideally no later than one hour before our first set is due to start. We often start early to travel to events and play long into the night and need a meal in-between.
We ask that you ensure there is suitable access for the band to bring in their sound equipment. The closer we can get our vehicles to the stage the better. If possible, it would be helpful if you there is a room for the band to change and to keep out of the way when not performing.
What happens when you aren’t playing?
If we are using our own sound system we are happy to provide a playlist for the times we are not performing which will be at no extra cost. You may also provide your own iPod, laptop to play through our system if you have specific playlists that you want to hear.
For how long does the band play?
This varies depending on each event. To give you an idea, we will often play two one-hour sets for weddings and parties and one main set for corporate parties or festivals. We are happy to talk through your requirements and make sure the timings suit your event.
Can I choose the songs you play?
We play all types of events from weddings, parties, corporates and but we don’t run from a set list. We prefer to play to the crowd which ensures the dance floor is always full. You are more than welcome to have a look through our set list and make some suggestions of songs you would like us to play.
Can we come to watch the band perform before booking?
The majority of our events are private parties and functions but there are generally a few public bookings a month to enable you to come and watch us play live. We do recommend that you check our videos and sound recordings as these give a good idea of us playing live.
How far do you travel?
We travel far and wide playing events in the UK, Europe and beyond. Let us know where your event is being held and we can work out an all-inclusive quotation.

"The Talismen played at our wedding and we were absolutely blown away. They were super friendly and professional from the first chat right through to the end. They went above and beyond to help us in every way they could and even chose our first dance song! The music was incredible and we 100% recommend this band. They are unbelievably talented and the dance floor was packed. Thank you so much for helping to make our day so perfect."

"Hey Kev, Chris and Tim, we just want to say a massive thank you for playing our wedding on 31st July at The Old Vicarage. For anyone thinking of booking these guys, do it!! They are punctual and professional, they sound phenomenal, the recordings online don't really do them justice (and they are great too!). They were super-accommodating with our vision of how the evening should run. We had a vintage feel to our country house wedding and their look complimented this perfectly. It was wonderful to have our first dance with a real band instead of a DJ. It made it feel very romantic for us. All of our guests loved having them, they had everyone up dancing, and their versions of the songs they play are sublime. We particularly loved their treatment of some Bob Marley classics that had everyone singing the lyrics back to them. They really do create the perfect party atmosphere. Highly recommended! Shaz & Jut."
