More information about Jamie Clarke

Jamie has performed at many weddings, corporate events and parties, as a soloist and fronting bands.

As a session singer, songwriters often call upon Jamie to record their material in studios around the UK.

Jamie is accustomed to performing internationally. Only recently he has been singing in Egypt, France, Italy, Dubai and has nearly qualified for a bulk discount on sunscreen.

Jamie's has also performed for large corporations such as Vodafone and O2. Prestigious venues such as The Ritz, Dorchester Hotel, and Claridges.

He has also performed in front of Royalty and on a beach at the end of season party in Dubai for the World Powerboat Championships.

Jamie Clarke loves singing and playing a wide range of musical styles using guitar, piano or popular backing tracks. As well as singing popular ballads, disco and rock classics, Jamie enjoys performing swing, acoustic numbers and the very best in musical theatre.

As an acoustic guitarist and singer, I can also roam amongst your guests to make the experience even more engaging and truly "live".

Singer, pianist & acoustic guitarist for weddings

Whether you’re looking for an intimate, relaxed atmosphere, or just want your guests to have good old dance, Jamie Clarke can provide you with a variety of options to tailor to your wedding.

For the wedding ceremony, piano or guitar plus vocals is an ideal combination to provide some light music as your guests arrive, during the signing of the register and as your guests depart after the ceremony.

For the wedding breakfast, piano or guitar plus vocals is also a good option to provide some relaxing and uplifting music as your guests dine.

At the evening wedding reception, piano or guitar plus vocals or with backing tracks would be my recommendation to get your guests onto the dance floor. I can play a selection of recent pop covers as well as swing, rat pack and jazz classics.

Jamie offers a bespoke service for each client, tailoring to your needs for the big day. He can provide any of the above as individual services or can be hired for a whole day’s entertainment.

My standard set times are 2 x 45-min sets, but I can perform for longer if you would like.

After an initial enquiry, Jamie will be in contact with you to discuss your preferences and ideas for your wedding and is more than happy to arrange a meeting with prospective clients. If you want to hear first-hand from some of the delighted couples, take a read of my testimonials below.

FAQs

Can we pick what songs you perform?

Yes you can. However I do like to be able to choose the best order to play them in for a good set flow. I recommend letting me know your most favourite songs you'd like to hear...and then allow me to mix these in with some of my own choices, that will complement the event and the tastes of your guests. I always like to ask as to what songs you would like me avoid, whatever the reason for this.

Are you able to DJ in-between sets?

In a sense, yes. I am not a DJ, but I can provide playlist music in between sets that complement the music I perform. I am also more than happy for you to provide a playlist either in advance or you can plug your device into my system.

Do you have your own lighting?

Yes, I can provide simple, professional and contemporary LED lighting for stage/dance floor with all my packages if required.

How much space do you need and what power do you require?

A performance area of at least 3m wide x 2m deep (4m x 3m if possible) + 2 plugs/power points. That's all. I am happy to liaise with venues prior to the day to organise a suitable space if necessary.

How loud are you?

If I'm acoustic, then as loud as my voice, but with PA I like to set the sound so the music is lively and loud enough to encourage people to dance to it, at the same time making sure the levels aren't too loud, so that your guests can still talk to one another.

Can we use your microphone for speeches?

I have a wireless microphone that you are very welcome to use. Just let me know if you would like to borrow it. Please be aware that my PA may need to be set up earlier to accommodate this.

Can we sing a song with you?

It's great when guests get involved, however previous experience has taught me that it is best to organise this before the night to avoid unexpected performers spoiling it for everyone. Please feel free to let me know if there's someone (or something) you'd like to sing.

Do you have PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) and PLI (Public Liability Insurance)?

Yes, all my electrical items are tested annually and PAT certified to meet the IEE Electricity at Work Regulations. I also have Public Liability Insurance cover up to £10 million, renewed each year with AmpBand. If your venue needs copies of these, just let me know your point of contact and I can send them directly.

"Jamie played fantastically at our wedding! He was incredibly flexible with timings and did a brilliant version of our first dance! Jamie played after dinner, encouraging guests through from the dining room and created a brilliant atmosphere. After our first dance, he played another requested song for a father and daughter dance and by the end was playing with some of our guests. We are so appreciative of his flexibility and enjoyed his set massively - some great classics! Thanks, Hannah and Tom."

"Hi Jamie, Theressa and I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for playing on our wedding day at the church and The Bunk Inn. We’ve had so many friends say how much they enjoyed the day and for us you made the day. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending you to anyone … hope you can make them as happy as you made us."

"We met Jamie Clarke to discuss music for our ceremony as we were unsure as to what we wanted, apart from one song for our exit which was ‘Run to the Hills’ by Iron Maiden! He excelled in his rendition much to the pleasure of our guests. After the ceremony whilst guests were having drinks and photos taken, Jamie strolled around with his guitar entertaining everyone and playing many requests. During the evening Jamie played a set which included our first dance where he was accompanied by our daughter on vocals, which again everybody loved, and everyone was up and dancing. We have had numerous comments from guests saying how brilliant Jamie was and he’s also a thoroughly nice chap!"

"Hi Jamie, Thanks again for a fantastic job as our wedding singer. It was a pleasure having someone that was so willing to adapt to our music tastes and requirements. All our guests commented on how great you were and one of my favourite moments of the whole day was singing “sex is on fire” with you in front of all out guests. I wish you every success and hope lots of people call on your services in the future. I know some of my guests have already expressed an interest in using you….."
