About Laura Harpist – professional wedding harpist for hire in London
French-Swiss harpist Laura is a student of Gabriella Dall’Olio at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, currently studying for a Postgraduate Artist Diploma.
Before, she studied at the Haute Ecole de Musique in Geneva, and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
On top of having lived in three different countries, she also performed in many more, giving solo recitals in Spain, France and Switzerland as well as in the UK in venues such as St Martin-in-the-Fields.
Chamber music and orchestra took her to other countries, playing in Italy and Germany, like in the Berlin Konzerthaus, the Frauenkirche in Dresden and the KKL in Luzern.
But it’s her own love of travel which made her go the furthest as she went to Australia, just because it was one of her childhood dreams.
Music is all about sharing, meeting incredible people and making lifelong friendships, and youth orchestras are a wonderful way to do that.
Laura has been invited to play with many of them: French Youth Orchestra, Verbier Festival Orchestras, Young Musician Symphony Orchestra, but most of all the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, which is the best youth orchestra of the world, according to the renowned conductor Herbert Blomsdedt. Playing with them was a real pleasure and honour!!
All these amazing experiences reinforced each time her love of orchestral playing, and she is now freelancing in London and abroad, playing with professional orchestras like the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, under conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Charles Dutoit and Kazuki Yamada, amongst others.
Laura is also playing regularly as a chamber musician and a soloist.
Not always playing in formal concert setting, she has also performed for school children and in nursing homes, but one of her most unforgettable experience was to play in a jail for many prisoners, followed by a small discussion with them. This was truly incredible.
