What kind of events are you available to perform at?
A whole range! I have played at weddings, birthdays, private gatherings and cooperate events. I have played in people’s gardens and even on an allotment! I always think that live music helps any event become even more special.
Can I come and see you play live?
Yes of course, drop me an email and I can let you know when I am next playing a public gig. I could even organise a short performance over Skype for you if you can’t make a performance.
How far are you prepared to travel?
I travel mainly in England and Wales. If you’d like me to travel further to play for you then let me know. Sometimes it’s not practical to travel to a performance and back home in the same day so if this is the case there will be a cost for reasonable accommodation and incidentals factored in. I am always happy to provide a breakdown of cost.
Do you ever play with a band or other musicians?
Yes, I do sometimes play as a duo with my friend Caitlin who is a wonderful singer. I can also play as a duo with a keyboard or percussion player and I do have a group of musicians including a brilliant double bass player. If you are interested in booking me as a duo or full band then let me know. This does cost more than booking myself as a solo performer!
Do you play with amplification or acoustically?
Most of the time I would need some amplification but I can also play without a speaker if this is what you’d prefer.
How does it work on the day for you?
Before the day I will get in touch with the venue directly (if you are not the venue booking me). I will then arrive around an hour before my performance time to set up. I only really need a small space (approximately 2m x 2m) and for it to be close to a plug socket. If you are wanting me to perform outside then please ensure there is a plug socket I can get my extension cable to. I have two different speaker system that I can use which you can see in the photos above. I also use fairy lights and static lights to decorate my performance space if this is appropriate. We can work out the performance times and breaks during the booking process.
My venue insists that all performers have Public Liability Insurance/PAT testing certificates. Do you have these?
Yes I have both of these. I am a member of the Musicians Union and have PLI (Public Liability Insurance) with them. I have a full PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) certificate for my equipment and would be happy to send this to you or directly to the venue.
Are you able to learn a special song?
Yes I always enjoy learning new songs so if you send me a YouTube or Spotify link I will take a listen. Sometimes, however, some songs are just too hard to cover well on an acoustic guitar! I have learnt many special songs for wedding ceremonies and birthdays.
What will you wear on the day?
I will always be smart in trousers, a shirt and shoes and I often wear braces or a waistcoat too. If you have a specific theme for your event then do let me know!
Will you require food?
No, but if you are offering then that would be lovely! I am a veggie!

"Steven was brilliant and fitted perfectly into those daytime parts of the wedding between meals and the evening do, really keeping the guests entertained, creating a great atmosphere but allowing people to talk and mill about too. It was perfect! Steven sounded great and played some excellent tunes, lots of our guests commented about how good he was and really enjoyed his set. Steven himself was on time and ready to go, played a full set both times and seemed like a top bloke too. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending him or booking him again in future. Huge thanks."
– Jane Marquez, 1 April 2019, wedding in Liverpool
"Steven Pine played at our 50th wedding anniversary. What a find! He is the consummate professional, from the initial booking and his friendly helpful contacts up to the event……..and then he played…..wow! His playlist was so appreciated by the mixed age guests, he also learned and performed two songs that were very special to us. Such a quiet polite charm with a superb vocal talent plus terrific musical skills. We booked him without meeting or hearing him live and he didn’t let us down, such quality."
– Keith & Sheila Parry, 22 December 2018, party in Birmingham

– Brogan Samuels, 12 September 2018, corporate event in Coventry
“Steven came over to Shrewsbury to play at our engagement party, he was really professional from the first interaction in organising the booking to when he played. He is a fantastic singer and acoustic player who put a wicked twist on some of peoples favourite songs – he played an array of genres and was brilliant at holding the room. Thank you again for coming over to celebrate with us and I can not recommend Steven highly enough for anybody’s future bookings. We will be booking him again for our Wedding for sure.”
– Ross Gerrard, 3 September 2018, party in Shrewsbury
“You were absolutely fantastic, I could have just sat and listened to you singing and playing the guitar all afternoon. Everyone I spoke to said how brilliant you were and what a wonderful ambience you created, perfect for a sunny wedding day. I took one of your CD’s and have listened to it many times and will continue to do so in the future as it will be a constant reminder of a truly fantastic day! Not that I’ll really need a reminder! All the luck for your future ventures, with a talent like you have I’m sure you’ll go far!”
– Dawn Simmons, 18 August 2018, wedding in the West Midlands
“Steven was absolutely amazing, his songs were perfect for our wedding, he was very professional and our guests have given us excellent feedback. Steven has a great unique style which is why we booked him in the first place. I would definitely recommend Steven and would definitely book him again should we need a singer for a future event.”
– Wanda Stern, 15 August 2018, wedding in Birmingham
“I had Steven come and sing at my 25th wedding anniversary. I booked him several weeks before and I found him to be courteous and polite through the booking stages. On the day he was on time and really approachable. The party was in the garden and when it started to rain he was pretty chilled and went along with us moving indoors. Steven is a great singer and all my guests were saying how good he was. They asked for song requests from a list and he accommodated this. Steven made our day the more special! I will definitely book him again.”
– Marie Dingle, 2 August 2018, party in Birmingham
“Steven Pine has musical skills that captivate every audience he plays for. A lot of cover artists tend to just copy the songs and play them how everyone knows them… a carbon copy. But Steven Pine always goes that extra step to ensure he puts his own unique stamp on each and every song. His unique and professional manner ensures he’s a hit with all audiences.”
– Natalie Bracknell, 1 August 2018, corporate event in Birmingham
“Brilliant singer!! Steven was very professional. He really entertained us & the guests during the party. Nice choices of songs. Highly recommended.”
– Jeff Lawson, 23 July 2018, party in Lancashire
“Right from my initial enquiry, I knew Steven would be perfect for our wedding. He was thoroughly professional throughout the day, making a positive impression on all of our guests. He provided the perfect soundtrack for our ceremony & throughout his performance, it was obvious that he loves what he does. Would highly recommend.”
