About The Reelers Acoustic Duo – professional acoustic duo based in Perthshire, Scotland
We are a dynamic, upbeat and fun acoustic duo & ceilidh band (trio or duo).
We are professional musicians with cruise ship experience and over 10 years of live performance, touring and recording.
The Reelers can perform ceilidh dances (called by Rebecca) as well as pop and rock covers...a mixture of ceilidh and covers is very popular at wedding receptions.
We are in demand to perform throughout Scotland and internationally at weddings, corporate events and parties.
Rebecca pours such passion and devotion into her music that listeners can’t help but be flooded with emotion and memories of the beautiful struggle called life.
Her voice has been compared to that of Jewel and Natalie Merchant and described as “pure, sweet, and full of emotion.” Her diverse musical style defies genre, but if necessary her songs can be categorised as pop/rock with a twist of folk.
Raised in a very musical household, Rebecca was fascinated by the creativity of her granddads singing and storytelling.
At a very young age she knew that making music was her passion, and she now describes it as “a relationship you can’t leave, and it never leaves you.”
Rebecca departed from her native Scotland in 2006 and moved to America. Her first album was recorded in Palm Springs, California and provided her break into the California music scene. The album was well received by fans and critics alike.
In 2010 Rebecca won ‘Best Female Artist’ in the SoCal Live Music Competition for her song “Hollywood”.
The poetic candour of her voice and the powerful emotions and imagery that define her song writing. Her band “Dolalay” released their debut EP "Days Like This" in Feb 2012 and toured Scotland.
She is already back in the studio recording her second solo album, due to be released in 2017 and is working with another band who plan to release an EP in late summer.
Celebrity High Magazine was right when they said that “this young singer has A LOT of potential and the drive to go far.”
Scott lives for the drums, developing a passion for drums at the age of 10, drumming for various marching bands during early high school. Soon he was drawn to the drum kit with influences from the likes of U2, Fleetwood Mac, Radiohead and the Manic Street Preachers to name a few.
In 2002, a move to central Bristol immersed Scott in the diverse cultural music scene, and he performed at many festivals and played drums with bands playing original material which he co-wrote.
The call of the Scottish music scene proved strong and he returned in 2006 to follow his passion for both live performance and teaching and furthering his music studies with the University of the Highlands & Islands in Perth.
Scott continues to play drums for a diverse range of artists both in the studio, televised and live.

"Just wanted to leave a message to say we had The Reelers perform at our wedding at Rufflet's on the 31st of November this year and they were absolutely amazing!! They performed before the ceremony for the guests and as the flower girls, bridesmaids and my wife walked down the aisle. They also performed after the ceremony during the drinks reception and all the guests absolutely loved them! Rebecca has a stunningly beautiful voice and we got the acoustic sound we were looking for. I could not recommend them highly enough. Thanks for helping make our day even more special x"
